Primary Savings Accounts
As a credit union member, your member-owner status is represented by the funds you save at Garden State.
That's why we call your savings account a Primary Savings Account. You must open this account with an initial minimum deposit of $5.00, and maintain that balance to remain a member in good standing. This deposit is not a fee; it goes directly into your Primary Savings Account. The $5 is not available to clear checks, Visa Check Card transactions, to pay bills, or any other type of transaction.
All Primary Savings Accounts earn money based on the average daily balance. The dividend (interest) is calculated daily and posted monthly. Deposits can be made through Payroll Deduction to ensure savings growth. Your funds are insured by the NCUA up to $100,000. Non-IRA accounts are insured up to $100,000 and IRAs are insured upto $250,000 for a combined coverage of $350,000. And, you receive the service you deserve.
You may open other Primary Savings Accounts for specific savings purposes like education, taxes, vacations, or special purchases. To open another Savings Account for any purpose, visit or contact us.
