It’s Time For EMV Chip Credit & Debit Cards

Financial institutions in Europe and the US are implementing EMV Chip Card technology. Garden State FCU is joining them. The debit cards began migrating on 12/01/15. If two card holdersEMV Chip have the same card number, the joint card will receive a new card number prior to the expiration of their existing card over the next four months.

Why is the credit union switching to EMV Chip technology? We are switching because the chip encrypts information to increase data security when making transactions at chip-enabled terminals.

Please keep an eye on your mail to look for your new card.

Also, be sure to update your phone number with us because if there is a suspicious charge on your account, your card could possibly be temporarily blocked if we can’t reach you.
